Laser Engraving Services

AUTHORIZATION: By submitting an item for laser engraving at AZ Custom Knives Ltd ("AZCK"), I authorize AZCK to perform laser engraving on my property as described in the approved proof.

PROOF APPROVAL: I understand that no engraving work will begin until I have reviewed and approved a digital proof. By approving the proof, I confirm that the design, text, spelling, positioning, and orientation are correct and as intended. AZCK is not responsible for errors present in the approved proof.

POSITIONING ACCURACY: I understand that laser positioning is accurate to approximately ±2–3 mm of the approved proof. Minor variations in final placement are inherent to the engraving process and do not constitute a defect or error.

PERMANENT PROCESS: I acknowledge that laser engraving is a permanent, irreversible process. Once engraving begins, it cannot be undone, corrected, or removed without potentially damaging the item.

EQUIPMENT RISK: I acknowledge that laser engraving equipment, while professionally maintained, may occasionally produce results that differ from the approved proof due to equipment behaviour, material properties, surface inconsistencies, or other factors beyond AZCK's reasonable control.

LIABILITY: I agree that AZCK's total liability for any engraving error — including equipment malfunction — is strictly limited to the cost of the engraving service (setup fee and per-piece fee). AZCK is not liable for the replacement value, sentimental value, or any other value of the item being engraved, regardless of its worth. I am choosing to have my item engraved at my own risk.

HIGH-VALUE ITEMS: For items of significant personal or monetary value (including but not limited to custom knives, collector pieces, heirlooms, and firearms), AZCK strongly recommends testing on a sample piece first where possible. I understand that proceeding with engraving on high-value items is entirely at my own risk.

ARTWORK & DESIGN FEES: Additional fees may apply for artwork preparation: Artwork Fee ($25) if AZCK sources or prepares artwork; Logo Redesign ($50) if a customer-provided logo requires tracing or rebuilding; Custom Artwork ($65) if AZCK creates original artwork from scratch. Designs created by AZCK remain the property of AZCK unless otherwise agreed in writing.

GOVERNING LAW: This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.

Participants Under 18

AZ Custom Knives welcomes participants of all ages. There is no minimum age requirement — the determining factor is the comprehension level of the participant.

For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the following before the class:

1. Acknowledgment of Risk: The parent/guardian confirms they understand the specific risks involved in the activity (sharp tools, hot materials, heavy equipment, rotating machinery).

2. Indemnity Agreement: The parent/guardian agrees to indemnify AZCK against any claims arising from the minor's participation.

No adult is required to be on-site during the activity, provided these agreements have been completed.

Note: We recommend having this clause reviewed by a lawyer before relying on it. This is our best-effort approach based on Alberta law.
